Does your salary include super: Your salary may include superannuation payments, or superannuation payments may be in addition to your salary.
Superannuation Guarantee Rate (SG Rate): As of 1 July 2025, this rate stands at 12.0%. It's the compulsory contribution your employer must make to your super. Please cross-reference this with your recent payslip or super statement. Your employer may pay more than the minimum compulsory contribution.
Salary Sacrifice (pre-tax): This refers to an agreement with your employer to contribute additional amounts to your super from your pre-tax salary. These contributions undergo a tax at 15% rather than your personal income tax rate. Again, your recent payslip or super statement will offer clarity on this.
Non-Concessional Super Contributions (post-tax): These contributions come from post-tax income or savings. They don't incur any additional tax when received by your super fund. Check your payslip or super statement for exact figures.
